23 June - Images, alien mind and "interpretation-gone-mild"

The Discord community continues discussing various possibilities of interpretation of the header and footer, producing various types of images. The process triggers questions on the possible workings of an alien mind. Some participants self-organise in a new thread called "interpretation-gone-mild" for the "technically-challenged", attempting an interpretation that does not rely on technical skills.

@Albert Fetscher, thanks for starting this thread! I'm learning so much from others and just looked up Debayer.

Oh, I like the macropixel strategy. Preserves the 2D shapes, might give more info.

From a non-technical person, I see a long string of 1s and 0s. My natural feeling is not to put the information into a "box" or "table" of two dimensions , like many others are exploring, but do understand it makes things easier for us to "see" and work with. What other ways can we look at this string? I think of Morse code, string theory (open and closed), transitions between 0 and 1, and 1 and 0, and different base numeric systems. As I sometimes play with LEGO (as an adult!), I'm wondering if we could think of the bits in 3D/4D. I also wonder if the final message will result in the expression of multiple dimensions and of different forms open to interpretation. While I have previously suggested the use of universal physical constants, these things may not be "universal" to an alien. I may be completely wrong and this is not to throw shade (no pun intended) on anyone, but just trying to think outside the "box".

This bit stream of long strings of 0s and a few 1s is interesting. What could it be? These long cords remind me of Inca-knots called "Khipus" (Quipu). What do you think?

That's interesting - I've never heard of those Khipus before. Neat how they have been used as communication/documentation for numerical data, and possibly literary and music information.

Well, we have not only the message but we have also a header and a footer. In the last more than 20 days we figured out that the headers have patterns and have a ruleset. So at least to me it's strongly indicating that we are being told to do some type of action which can be altering, calculating, shifting, reordering or what ever type of operation. Other facts, despite the headers and some found correlating numbers we do not have.

As we have so little facts I am not willing to exclude any idea even if it seems not logical to us as we have never dealt with an alien mind. That is why it is for me a "strong indication".
I really appreciate if my assertions are being challenged as this is giving me the opportunity to reflect my ideas. So if there is any explanation why this might never be an error correction I'm willing to listen.

I'd agree on the patterns, but unless the "ruleset" produces any results, I would'nt be to sure about that? 😅

Depends a bit on what we mean by "result". I think many of us expect something that is clearly visible and has a clear meaning. I don't think it will be that simple.

The bit error probability of the BPSK modulation method used is greater than or equal to zero. Thus, bit errors in the binary data "data17.bin" are likely.
